ILCA developed BDSP during the Covid Pandemic, and I would like to know if that affected BDSP's development process.
We know that BDSP was developed in around 1.5 years (or that's what I've heard, at least). So I searched online to see how much was game development (in general) affected by the Covid Pandemic. A simple google search shows this:
>An estimated one-third of developers surveyed in 2020 by the GDC stated that COVID-19 caused a delay of the games they were working on, a combination of the pandemic and the remote working conditions. By 2021, this had increased to 44% by 2021 in a subsequent GDC survey.
So what's your guess? Do you think ILCA had to cut corners to release BDSP on time? Or do you think they were one of the companies that were NOT affect much by the Covid Pandemic?
We know BDSP needed a big Day 1 Patch that included the post game and the finalized music, etc. Is it possible that they had to finish the game digitally, because when they had to put the game on cartridge they weren't ready? Or do you think this had nothing to do with the Covid Pandemic? What are your thoughts?
