Second, she is explicitly identified as a female in Gates to Infinity, and voiced by a female in all languages for the official movie. There are no canon examples of Virizion ever being depicted as a male, so as far as GameFreak is concerned, she's female - which isn't surprising given she's specifically based off of the version of Aramis from the Three Musketeers anime and its spin-off, who was female.
