Very few old Pokemon return, only that most are mostly limited to cross-gen evos and symbiosis evos. Rest are DLC.
Open world, but they include survival elements. It's very basic but has crafting elements that allow you to make items and do stuff with Pokemon.
You have a moving customizable hover base that gets upgraded over time. You find trainers with their ride and base. It is the cumulation of SS and SV.
Pokeballs are reworked. You craft and design them. Fully customizable, but you can buy premade variants at cities. Pokeball customization is a big thing in region, Gym Leaders send out custom balls with effects.
Pokedex entries are more detailed. generally has three types of information. Behavior, Legend and Biology. Photos return, but you can snap your own as optional.
Shinies are supposedly reworked, due to accessibility complaints that they've received during SV. Subtle shinies are removed entirely.
Pokemon have colour variants, but it seems to be automatically generated.
You can decorate your Pokemon. You can get free decor if your Pokemon has a mark or is shiny.
Level scaling is free around region, no longer set route.
