True of XY, and its fatal flaw. But that's the fault of every season bar SM. Yes even DP.

XY didn't scare away anyone. It got people excited for the anime again in droves. It made this general, it made the anime "Cool" again. What did turn away people was the ending, which remains the single worst writing decision of this dogshit franchise thus far.
It's funny how hard SMfans focus on XY vs SM's ending, because the ending is the only thing SM has over XY. But it'll never change the fact that a show that's 95% good besides the ending will always beat a show that's only claim to fame is a good ending.
