>>48255509Absolutely not. His ult damage will still be ridiculous, he'll still be tanky as shit, and he'll still be more than capable of doing outrageous damage to anything he wants on-demand. In fact, all that's going to happen is that people are going to switch from Water Spout to Hydro Pump. The full Water Spout combo did about 7k damage pre-nerf, assuming you hit every hit of Water Spout on BOTH casts (unlikely). It will now do about 6.05k damage. The Hydro Pump combo did about 6.00k damage pre-nerf and will do almost exactly the same damage post-nerf, maybe one autoattack less. So in the IDEAL case you lose about 1000 damage, which is a fair bit, but on the other had, you're far more likely to actually hit with Hydro Pump's full damage than you were with Water Spout. Hydro Pump also shoves and stuns enemies, it's more generally useful outside of Rapid Spin, and it does its damage up-front rather than over time. It even has a shorter cooldown.
It is barely a nerf at all. All they've done is ensured that nobody's going to take Water Spout + Rapid Spin any more. But Water Spout wasn't the problem. Rapid Spin was. In the end, I have my doubts that this nerf ends up being much more than a 10% overall damage nerf. Less, when you include the untouched Ultimate.
Frankly, in any practical scenario, Hydro Pump / Rapid Spin already did exactly the same damage as Water Spout / Rapid Spin.
