OP's lowly opinion: I'm personally kind of sad, I like being able to look back and say I've been playing with this same character since release of Gen III. Sure its just a game but I like having that collection and I'm going to feel like all my time was wasted if I can't see them continue on to the future. But if it really can't work, I still won't be mad. I understand they have to do what they have to do and I'm sure the new games will be great anyway, they already look better to me than Gen V.
