The reason for this is mainly due to the latest releases being considered as failures internally, with numerous issues plaguing the games. Team reorganization with several big names being taken off Pokemon games to focus on other smaller games, with some leaving the company too. Gen 9 will be mainly headed by some of the newer members, and will expect to see a new direction for the series from on.
Sinnoh remakes or any future remakes will not happen due to a new strategy to focus the main team on new regions from on, mainly due to the key word of "nostalgia" presenting more of a issue to the wellbeing of the series.
