Additionally, there are lots of production shots of the suits during the showa era, especially later on towards the end, where they look pretty green-ish, especially when covered in dirt/sand. Gee, I wonder if that has anything to do with Tyranitar's ground typing and sandstream.
The similarities between Tyranitar and Psaro are minor at best. Even your most compelling argument, Pupitar having no limbs, is more a reference to Mothra as a general monster movie reference than anything else.
Even if your claim is true, Mega Tyranitar is still a shit design.
