>>12879338Red, Green, and Blue's starters were based on official game promotional art though. It had nothing to do with the color. And the subsequent protagonists in later arcs go by a pattern that doesn't follow their "colored naming scheme".
>Girl: Blue-Water; Crystal-Grass; Sapphire-Fire; Platinum-Water; White-Grass >Main Guy: Red-Grass; Gold-Fire; Ruby-Water; Diamond-Grass; Black-Fire>Rival Guy: Green-Fire; Silver-Water; Emerald-Grass; Pearl-FireIt's always Grass-->Fire--->Water-->Grass-->repeat whenever we switch to another protagonist. The names don't have to match their "element" or "color" or whatever.
The main guy always has a starter super effective to the girl. The girl has starter super effective to the rival. The rival always has a starter super effective to the girl. And the cycle repeats.
The only exception is Yellow, and her game was sort of a standalone thing based on the anime. It has nothing to do with color.
