>>49720120Cinderace is pretty humanlike, but points are taken because it’s covered in fur, and it has little bunny paws for hands. Gardevoir doesn’t have human hands, but at least they’re still some form of hands.
People come up with these kinds of comments as a way to cope with Gardevoir being the waifumon.
“ACTUALLY, Gardevoir looks like a grey, Gardevoir looks like the rake, Gardevoir looks like a nightmare creature.”
In reality, Gardevoir is a very beautiful species, even in-universe. This is seen even in features which people try to say are ugly.
Their heads are very round and somewhat large, giving them a soft girlish appearance. This also contrasts against the more angular heads of the human characters, subtly making the Gardevoir appear more exotic, reminding you that they aren’t humans. They have massive eyes, enhancing their otherworldliness. This is fitting for a species possibly meant to resemble guardian angels. They have thick wrists, giving their arms a smooth and elegant look. Similarly, they walk on their toes, typically keeping their feet pointed straight down, reminiscent of a ballet dancer’s pointe technique. Their bodies are incredibly lithe, but not in a way which makes them seem emaciated.
They also avoid a lot of the common trappings of humanoid Pokemon bodies. They have clearly identifiable necks, shoulders, waistlines. Their thighs thicken a bit as they come closer to the torso. As pointed out earlier, they’re even modeled with a cute little bum. This could be intentional. Similar to how Gamefreak wants Charizard alone to be the number 1 coolmon, maybe they also want Gardevoir alone to be the number 1 waifumon.
Finally, this is all topped off with their lovely mask and gown.
They’re not ugly. They’re not some sort of horror creature. They’re truly a gorgeous species, in spite of what copium addicts say about them.
