What you can't ignore and leave be on the other hand is the odd gray puddle standing idly by in the corner. It's meek, minor, and doesn't call any attention to itself unlike the bloodbath that is everything else in the basement.
That's what catches your attention the most. You approach the piddly puddle and kneel before it.
"Hm.. It's not green, so I know for sure it's not Mountain Dew and therefore not worth drinking. Could my newsthirsty homebrowner have left this behind?"
You retrieve a bottle of Fresh Water from your inventory. You try to chug the whole thing, but you wimp out halfway and end up dumping the rest. With the now-emptied bottle, you collect a sample of the substance for later.
