Gen 6 was good, despite some of the mixed items and the Z axing. It really brought a lot more than people give it credit for, especially for taking the time to make soulful animations for a whole host of Pokemonamie actions. They could have left 3D as standard battle actions and that's all, but they gave them life that they've carried on for all the years since.
