Toxic can put Talonflame on a timer and Hex hits for 130 BP once they're statused. If you don't want to run Dual Status, Magic Coat's a cool option, as is Snatch. The former bounces back any attempts at stausing Cofag, and Snatch steals Aromatherapy/Heal Bell, Screens, Recovery, and anything else people might try to set up on a pokemon they presume to have little offensive presence.
