>>42498608I've looked at the suigimori art and I'm starting to think that the sprites are the biggest issue. I still think the vast majority of the designs are dogshit, but in the artwork you can at least tell what they're meant to be and they do look better on art than they do as the shitty sprites you shat out. Some of the biggest victims of this mangling are the Vulture-Skeleton thing, which while still bad, actually looks passable and it's much better in artwork. As a sprite though, it's fucking atrocious, it looks squashed together and everything is extremely tiny with it's massive bulging head looking way out of place.
Also, I DID find one I did like: this guy (name is "Paragoda" I believe). The artwork for this thing is fucking fantastic, but when I located it's sprite in the sheet it was fucking awful and hardly resembled this badass objectmon at ALL. In fact, apparently it's just the first stage in it's line, and everything after it on the sheet is significantly worse than it. It's like how Duskull is the best designed member of it's like, with Dusclops being passable at best and Dusknoir just being a terrible way out there end. They're not bad designs, but Duskull is fucking fantastic. Except this thing's second and third stage are significantly worse than Dusclops and Dusknoir.
Please, make this thing a standalone pokemon that doesn't evolve. This design is gold, it just needs a better fucking sprite that doesn't remove all it's charm. I still stand by my opinion everything else was bad, but hey, you got one.
