Sorry, Fairy types have to actually be related to fairy tales, folklore, legends, etc. Simply being cute and pink will not get you a ticket out of the Normal type ghetto.

OP here. I'll list out my rationality for all of the traits.
SE against fighting- fighting type is like the furthest you can get from fantastical, making it practically useless against fairies.
SE against dark- pretty self explanatory.
SE against dragon- dragons and fairies are both fantastical creatures. It makes sense to me that they would be opposing forces.
Resists fire- fire is destructive to nature, fairies protect nature.
Resists electric- same as fire.
Resists fighting, dark, dragon- see SE above
Weak to poison- Poison needs to be SE against something and this makes sense in my head.
Weak to steel- fairies are hurt by iron in some folklore and steel is unnatural, being in stark opposition to fairies.
Weak to ghost- just makes sense in my head and boosts ghost offensively, like poison.

I'll also add what would resist Fairy type-
Ghost, Grass, Bug, Steel, Poison

Grass and Bug would resist it because they're also representative of nature and the natural order.
