>>46647031Ok /vp/, the results are in! This will be several posts. I would post screenshots of calculations but they're messy as hell and some of it just isn't relevant. I don't keep that many images on this computer because of HD space but I'll do my best to make it less of a drag.
So to start, we had for #1- Unsurprisingly, the most common generation that people started with was Gen 1, with a plurality of 41.2% started with a Gen 1 game. Additionally, 13.0% started with a Gen 2 game, 22.1% started with Gen 3, 18.3% started with Gen 4, and 3.8% started with Gen 5. We also had one respondent that started with Gen 6 and another with Pokemon GO.
For #2, a majority of this board has went back and played the original RG/B. Additionally, 91.6% has played a classic Pokemon game of any kind. These results are going to vary significantly from the actual sales, but it confirmed my suspicions that a large portion of the sales of the original RBG/Y are from people that went back to play those games. Possibly as much as half the total sales.
For #3, a small majority of you has played SWSH at 52.7%. Almost half the Pokemon board hasn’t even played the latest Pokemon game that broke record sales for the last 20 years. Additionally, and this is really interesting, 42.0% of you stopped playing the series after USUM or earlier!
