Don't cheap out on anything, cage and food particularly.
Clean the cage often ( since I got 2 Ferrets i clean it daily )
Ferret are social so if you only get one be sure to play plenty with it
If you get 2 try to have a room in your house "Ferret proof" so that they can roam around without causing problems
Some poeple say that you should bathe it bi-yearly but I don't since they are clean animals.
Ferret can catch flu and cold so be careful if you are sick.
If you don't intend on breeding you should de-sex a male and you MUST de-sex a female.
Take it to a vet if you feel like anything is wrong
