You're totally right. XY are such jokes normally, but a nuzlocke of X that I did recently ended up being the most trying one I've ever done (and I've successfully nuzlocked BW2 and Platinum). I lost 12 mons throughout the game, many after just having done a ton of grinding (because without EXP Share, you do have to grind a ton). I also limited myself to no items in battle (except hold items) and no mega evolutions, but I still wasn't expecting it to be so rough. XY has a ton of normal trainers that are total shit (like every Fighting type ever- looking at Battle Girl Hedvig and everyone who uses a Sawk). Pic related- team I ended up finishing the game with
