Flannery was also damn close, I was slightly underlevelled because I thought a Thick Fat Azumarill could solo it with no issue. I almost lost ended up losing him because I didn't know Torkoal had Attract (my team is currently all male) and the Body Slams were wearing him down. He managed to get through paralysis and attract to get the ko finally while in the red, which was a relief.
If I lost him or even had to switch out I don't think anyone on the team could take an Overheat, so I probably would have lost at least two.

I haven't actually been nicknaming things this run. Been trying a new system where I only give names to my team going into the E4 after they've 'earned' them. I'm really bad at naming so it helps to give them AFTER they've had a chance to develop some'personality if that makes sense.
Also I always forget the names I give and just refer to them by the Pokemon name anyway. The nicknaming rule is meant to get you attached but I do that through making these shitty paint templates for a more personal touch.
