I was actually questioning the Aether scientists’ methods: we know that Type Null was artificially created for fighting purposes, and that the three prototypes rejected the system that the researchers tried to inject in them, causing the subjects to go berserk; the same scientists then put a helmet on the guinea pigs to contain them, before finally freezing them for good. All this seems very painful, so even if in the endgame the Aethers come back to be good guys again, nobody calls out the research team for their actions. Not even Gladion, who saved Null and helped him to not become another Mewtwo or Genesect. Seems strange to me, even for Alola’s peace-and-love standards.
