At the Gym, however, disaster struck as Mr. Mime came packing with... something. I'm not sure what, I'm guessing Magical Leaf, to kill Cereal. to avoid overleveling I only had two real Pokemon with me, but that really didn't matter.
I then took the time to get the Barboach all the way up there, having to deal with an army of Gastrodons, wow they're assholes.
Volkner time. The only thing Raichu can even hit Cancelled is with Surf, so I set up a bunch of Amnesias to make sure nothing goes wrong before Resting and EQing.
Ambipom comes in. Fake Out deals too much damage for me to Rest again, so I switch to Prince'nt and apply two layers of Charm in the face of Thunderbolt.
Instead of going for a second one however, Ambipom elects to use Last Resort for some reason? Expecting it to see a kill with Thunderbolt now, I switch back to Cancelled in hopes of Restig him back up, but Volkner goes for Last Resort again.
Not enough health left now, I need to switch again, this time time Heelx, who resists Thunderbolt and the rest of the moveset does nothing due to Charm. Two Thunderbolts are enough.
Octillery comes in. I T-Wave first for safety, as it goes for Focus Energy, Thunderbolt misses the kill but it's fully paralyzed. Volkner heals, but this time Octillery just gets straight one-shot.
Luxray left, I Volt Switch (Slower so Heelx takes the damage too) to Maplethorpe, confident Ice Fang won't kill and will let me set up Leech Seed. Ice Fang did about 75%, more than expected. From here I switch to Firedash, against who Luxra has nothing particularly good for. Two Flamethrowers is enough for the win.
Damn played like ass and had to work way harder than I thought. All that's left now is the trip to the League and planning, I guess. Not sure if I want to swap something out here.
