>>52840261>Winning the game with my favorites mean nothing when the real meat and bones of this gaming experience is the post-game (which most Pokémon games nowadays lack) and online gameplay.Oh. OHHHHH. You meant competitive. You tend to be up shit creek when it comes to using your favorites. Such is the folly of combining an RPG with online comp.
>Why am I always shooting myself in the foot just because I like Luvdisc? Why is it that I must make the game much more difficult to use what I like? Why can't it be good? The in-game balance excuse makes zero sense. Luvdisc is never found in the early-game and only mods and romhacks fix this for the most part.To answer that, you need to stop missing the biggest and most glaring feature of Luvdisc, which you would've known as a true Luvdisc fan; Its there for the single purpose of farming heartscales. Its a freebie RPG enemy, like the golden slime in Breath of Fire, which is found at a specific point in endgame and is worth nothing more than free exp and money. Thats what Luvdisc was made for.
Now, this wouldn't be a problem if pokemon wasn't so advertised to be your bestest friend forever that can win like
>>52837939 put it. If its competitive that you are sore about, it could be solved with a separation between the RPG story and the PvP campaign by either making them separate games or evening the playing field for the latter. But don't hold your breath for Lamefreak to do something like that when any shit they put on a platter is a guaranteed 8 million sales at worst.
