Another pair of cashgrab mythicals, only this time created to cash in on a mobile game. Melmetal has also become an overwhelmingly negative presence in the metagame due to power creep.
According to Gamefreak they tie into Sword and Shield somehow, but knowing their history with Events it's highly likely they've already been forgotten. If there's no Meltan plotline in Sword and Shield then that's another strike against these things
