Selkies are an entirely female species and while not commonly known for their songs, do actually have a magical singing abiltiy. Selkies that have had their pelts stolen by a man will marry him, until they find their pelt where they will run away with it. Homesick selkies will sing to the sea until they can find their pelts, or if a happily married selkie sings its usually to their husbands to guide them. Selkies can also create bubbles of moonlight with their songs which they pass down from mother to daughter, something primarinas also do.
