Regardless of whether Ash retired post-DP, I kind of wish they had pulled the trigger after XY and made Kukui the MC for Sun and Moon. It's not like there isn't precedent for having an adult MC for a children's show, and honestly, Friede fills up much of the same role that I'd fanwank about Kukui holding. Keep the rest of the Alola cast the same, and make them the ultimate focus with Kukui being the touchstone for the audience. I don't want to dogpile on the Ash hate train, but his inclusion is really the only thing I'd change about SM.
