No future movie is going to be the zenith and arguably the finale of Pokemania, no. But that's what we're really talking about here.
Funny to me though that Movie 1 was admirably high concept but couldn't do much with it, Movie 2 was a grand spectacle with a story so bare that the villain's backstory was cut for time, while Movie 3 sort of reigned in both sides but actually made them work together. You can decide whichever one was the first to fall on to formula but you could see the gears turning with those first three.
>>56127256I'd like to rewatch it too. I recall it being great in concept but a drag in practice, particularly that forced last act because they had no Pikachu short that year but were expected to fill out the run time anyway.
