I'm currently shiny hunting in Colosseum, so I had to grind mt battle for the early masterball. I originally was using quagsire/noctowl since they were just some mons I had, but noctowl fucking sucks, so I just went back to using ampharos, worked like a charm. Ampharos just sat on his FAT ass spamming thunderbolt while quagsire spammed surf/return and literally nothing could dick them, not even that earthquake spamming faggot.
In total: use ampharos, the most reliable homie you could have
