Nugget Bridge is noticeably harder, due to trainers packing some mid-evolutions. Ironically, the first trainer (a Bug Catcher) was the most threatening, one-shotting Nagaraja.
As for Misty, she's definitely harder than in the original (mostly due to her Starmie knowing Confusion and Recover), but not in a completely dishonest, Kaizo-like way. Sarin and Gnash dealed with the rest of her team, Machaon took on her ace with Sleep Powder/Leech Life combo, and when the going got rough, Squall finished the job with a series of Quick Attacks. On the other hand, I really lucked out that Starmie didn't use Recover that often.
Also, Route 5 has all starters.
