Ok, so I really didn't mean to tank Giovanni with Charon Gengar (I had expected him to lead with NidoKing desu) but luckily I had Giga Drain on (thanks to the anon's advice)
I have to say, I think the level cap at the Ace is too generous at least for this game. I only levelled two or three of my Mons up to 50 but I only needed one to sweep the whole Jim and the whole game has been this way. I think I'll keep trying the other games with this level cap to evaluate their individual difficulties and ideally find a comfortable level cap that either
a) Works universally
or
b) kust0m caps fair each game
