Decided to watch yesterday's new episode of Horizons too. I watch it every week, but figured I'd throw a spiel up about it, if for no other reason than to give the regular shitflinging crew less ammo to cry out "no one's talking about Liko's anime" like they do every week.
I really enjoyed watching the special training. The way that anime battles work (when the writing staff isn't stupid) has always been kind of divorced from the game mechanics, so I'm interested to see how Dai Sato and Storyriders interpret anime mechanics. This episode kind of gave a glimpse from the very basics about what that interpretation looks like, and it showed tangible, but very small growth, in Liko and Roy's skills. I'm really excited to see more interactions between the older members of the Rising Volteccers in the next few episodes before they reach Paldea.
Also, thought Grandpa was gonna end up being Gurumin. Boy are my cheeks rosy.
