>>43451393>game is same every time>no improvement on mechanics>only difference is gimmicks>aint broke why fix itonce i learn the tactics to a game, i'm not going to intentionally not use those tactics to make it harder.
For a too obvious example:
In the first Mario game you could jump, go down pipes, die, or complete the level.
In all following games, new mechanics are introduced that aren't intuitive from the previous games.
>what? i can pick up turnips now? how can I use this to my advantage?>What? there are new variations on jumping? Backflips, long jumps, side jumps, ground pounds??? it took me a little while to figure these new moves out, but maybe I can use these to my advantage to improve the experience and get to hard to reach places for max exploration value.meanwhile pokemon is a game of rock, paper, scissors, shotgun; where when you learned all the type match-ups 20 years ago, you knew what the best way to do anything. and if you're having a hard time with that you can just grind to overpower, ignoring the rock-paper-scissors game altogether.
>what? my level 7 charmander can't beat ur level 11 onix? let me just go kill 71345139982 weedles and then my level 20 pokemon with the same weak moves can now kill your onix.>no skill just time wasting.>pokemon is cookie clickerthis is why so many people give a shit about competitve play; all the in-game content is non-existent. fans rely on fan produced meta and head-canons.
the boredom comes from doing something we already have mastery in. I dont think anyone is in love with pokemon. its just the idea of pokemon that sticks with us
