>>39753188>Gen 6Unironically got me back Pokemon and restored my faith in the series, the designs look great, the jump to 3D, while probably a mistake in the long run was pretty fucking amazing and I'm surprised they got all Pokemon made in 3D since that's a lot of work. Kalos as a region is pretty good too, I actually enjoyed it. I remember the game being very easy even with exp share off and team flare being shit (I like Lysandre himself though) but other than those flaws the game was incredibly fun and surprisingly replayable, no doubt due to the sheer number of Pokemon available in the region.
Megas were a great addition, I've always loved the idea of having an 'ace' Pokemon, I just wish more Pokemon receieved a mega. Also contains my favourite 3 legendaries in the series (Yveltal, Xerneas and Zygarde 50%).
>Gen 7Our most recent gen. I really enjoyed it too, me and some friends were playing alongside each other and talking about our playthroughs with each other constantly, totem battles were a breath of fresh air (though personally I would have enjoyed both having totems and having gym battles still since I'm a sucker for tradition) and they're the boss type Pokemon I've always wanted in a Pokemon game. Genuinely had the most difficulty of any Pokemon games too, specifically USUM and that's especially so on nuzlocke runs.
SM has a good story which USUM does admittedly butcher but USUMs gameplay is clearly the superior of the two and the added difficulty is great. There's some great Pokemon designs this gen too but I hate the starters final forms unfortunately.
Z moves aren't as good as megas.
>Gen 8I love what I've seen from it so far. No doubt looks the best Pokemon has ever looked. Dynamaxing/Gigamaxing looks good and has way more depth comeptitively than people are making it out.
Pokemon are hit and miss, I'm getting gen 5 vibes from some of the designs which is disappointing but I do love some designs already. The NPCs this time around are top quality
