In actuality he just comes to hit on Kikuna while Misty could have been treated like a childhood friend that drop by Sakuragi Lad to visit Ash.
It what infuriating me that the anime didn't use their premise at its full capacity. The type of slice of life they wanted Pokemon to be require a good dynamic cast to carry the whole show, The anime not only could use Brock & Misty in the supporting cast but they could have also use LT Surge, Janine, Rinto, Marnie, Bede and Sabrina in the show as well. But some odd reason, the writing staff decided to bet everything on Ash & Goh's friendship.
