Enlighten me. If Alain gets Mega Charizard Y and ditches Mega Charizard X, then why are Mega Charizard Y and X in the same XYZ promos? If Alain ditched X, then you'd think that the new set of "leaks" would feature Mega Charizard Y but no Charizard X. Wouldn't both Mega Charizards being featured in the same promotional images imply that they are owned by two separate trainers? It's impossible for Alain to own both Mega Charizards in the same time frame since the anime seems to be going by a "one mega per trainer" rule.
Let's say that the Mega Charizard Y does belong to Alan (which is impossible since the Team Flare Saga probably won't be finished by the time it appears,) then who's Mega Charizard X's is that? Ash's because they are both blue?

That's the only ground that theory stands on. Alain could have been wearing that to match CHARMANDER'S colors. It would also make sense since Alain was young and happy at the time, like a Charmander typically is. It might have had nothing to do with Charizard Y. Not to mention that associating Mega Charizard Y with Alain's jacket would be like saying "that Mega Charizard X's is Ash's because they are both blue."
Keep in mind that Alain is already balls deep into this whole Team Flare business. He works for them, and Lysandre is his boss. Once Team Flare's taken out, he's not going to walk away from it all and return to Sycamore like nothing happened.
