I skipped Gen 3 when it originally came out, but Gen 4 pulled me back in. I remember the first time I heard the nighttime Pokemon center theme, and I thought it was so comfy and a very neat detail to add, and I got excited because I foolishly assumed that little innovations like this would get retained and built upon, and that Pokemon was only going to keep getting better and better. Sadly, here we are over a decade later, and this detail was simply lost along with countless other improvements that came and went as though they never existed.
