By X/Y, I wanted to try out its mega and was stupidly convinced by the game that I had to make it love me to make it achieve Mega Evolution, so it was at the front of the party for the time between 3 gyms and spent ages in Amie.
Then I just ended up liking it naturally, and it became my "starter" in AS, along with its Mega.
