Finished the Titan and Team Star story lines, and only need to get one more badge for the Pokémon league.
When I found out that single use items are returned to you after battle now, I got a little spicy with Iron treads and Arcanine's held items.
For Arcanine, Howl sets off throat spray, boosting it's attack and special attack. Letting it run a mixed set.
For iron treads, electric seed and quark drive are a nasty combo, boosting it's attack and defense after setting terrain up.
These sets probably won't do much in online battles, but this kind of cheese works really well in single player.
