Kinda disappointing bit a good game all around.
The region is fairly diverse in terms of locations to visit and thanks to the transition to 3D, it allowed the game designers to make some fairly kino moments with the camera positions. They even added a few dungeons here and there to give the player something to do along the adventure.
The pokemon themselves are pretty good in design and execution imo; I'm okay with the low number on new pokemon, I'm all for having 50 new mons but with the total number of pokemon in the franchise I say it was a good idea to tone it down with the amount, and even with the low amount you are given a lot of options for you to play around with so it's pretty balanced.
I actually really like the morals and implications the story tries to tell, in that with humanites growth will only provide a gradual scarcity of resources, and that the only way for Earth to continue it's beauty sacrifices had to be made, with kinda made Lysandre's (and Az's) actions justified. The problem is is that it's all written so poorly that it anly leaves you wanting more, and not in a good way.
Team Flare itself was a disapointment. Here we have a bunch of rich, uncaring snobs out the exterminate EVERYONE ON THE PLANET with dosen't fit their style, yet their written like the bumbling, inept idiots (Especially the admins). They should have honestly been more aggressive towards the player and the civilians, not in a cartoonish way but in a "I'm above you level, go away commoner" way. Like Flare are the Monarchs and Nobols while everyone else are the Peasents and Serfs. I know This was what Gamefreak was trying to pull of with Lysandre and Malva being a high up business people and all, but it seems really underdevolped.
The EXP Share should have also been nerfed, having the party pokemon gain half of the exp the battler gained.
The rivals were alright, Serbrina was the best while Shauna was just fucking annoying and useless.
Overall, an 7.5/10 in my book.
