>>55469896This is probably true up until a certain point. Everyone has bias towards the one they grew up with obviously. I usually look past some of Gen III's short comings because I find it to be my favorite alongside HGSS, and the fact that Emerald was my first adds on top of that. But I still like/love most of the other games up until Gen VI, and even then I still feel some form of appreciation for Gen VI.
Regardless of all of that though, it's becoming harder and harder to ignore the shortcomings of the games, especially the ones released on the Switch. I think in five to fifteen years time, you probably won't find the same love for Gen VIII and Gen IX like you do the prior games. Then again, these are some of the most popular in the franchise so it's hard to really say.
