Brief digression to show my creation of a weapon to surpass metal gear. Altaria isn't actually available yet, it's 4 or so gyms down the line, but at this point I can get Scraggy. Not only does the Scraggy you get here come with drain punch, Scraggy can get Moxie and Dragon Fance by breeding with Altaria. Dragon Dance + Moxie is an amazing fucking combo that can steamroll 90% of single battles without bullshit gimmicks.
