Consider for a second:
>Gen IThe Champion is Gary. It seems cool, yeah, but he's the champion after having lost to you every single time in the past. Maybe, if he had won every time, I could see him being intimidating, but not as he was presented in game.
>Gen IILance is the Champion. Lance. The same guy I destroyed in Gen I. And seeing as Red is still around, I'm guessing he got there because Red got bored and decided to leave.
Gen II suffers even more when you consider that two of the four are just guys you fought in the past. Koga and Bruno. I'm guessing Old Lady Agatha most of bought it considering Bruno was moved up to her slot.
