The most "Updated" version is always the canon version of events.
As stated in the OP, and incorporating the new games, the timeline is;
FR/LG/OR/AS -> (3 Years) -> HG/SS/Pt -> (6-8 Years Approx.) -> B/W -> (2 Years) -> B2/W2/X/Y
Time Travel is canon again due to the remakes.
That's about all anyone needs to know in regards to understanding the timeline, it's not hard, or even THAT important.
