It's not so much being the best parental figure anyone can be than being the best parental figure that *you* can be. That's good enough in your book and fortunately Alice has no expectations either.
So, you hug u're loli, "Again, everything's going to be alright. I'm not gonna be gone long, not gonna get shot, I'll straighten everything out, make my way through the route--bam, we're on our adventure again. Okay?"
Sniffling, Alice tilts her head up, "Y-You mean it..?"
"Yeah, I mean I've /lived/ this long, haven't I?"
She smiles, "Y-Yeah...Yeah! Poppy's 'gunna 'b okie-dokie!"
With that, she skips over to Serena, "We shouldn't stall things any further. We'll be on our way now, Calem. Remember that I'll message you as soon as we're there, I believe you're free to goof off or whatever until then."

You're gonna have to think of something fun to do to nick away at time while Serena and Alice make their way to Dendemille, shouldn't be too hard, you're a relatively fun chap to be around eighty percent of the time.
As your companions head into the autumn trail, you cup your mouth and shout out to them, "I hope I don't die today because if I do then it would really make this potentially final goodbye feel really underwhelming!"
