Haven't played in about a year and decided to get back into it a bit, and just put together this team made fully of pokemon I've never used before.
Flareon: I always wanted to use one, and I figured it would make a passable special wall in NU, but I wanted it to do more than just support the team, so I gave it Curse to shore up its defenses on the physical side and allow it to do some damage on its own. Maybe I should try a guts rest-talk moveset instead of wish-protect? Drop Curse for Facade to get some better coverage?
Scolipede: I wanted to use one since I always used Roselia in the past if I wanted spikes. Maybe I should replace Toxic for Rock Slide? The Bug Gem is because I don't see them often getting more than one attack off since it's laying hazards first, and I didn't want to run focus sash because no spinner, so the gem gives it some unsuspected damage to hopefully get off on something frail. Especially if it's in Swarm range first.
Rampardos: I wanted Rocks, and I wanted a way to keep rocks off the field for my Corracosta's Sturdy, and two rock weak pokemon.
Tangela: Special attacking Tangela seemed cool. Also considered Roselia or Vileplume. Maybe Vileplume since it doesn't need eviolite and can instead use Specs or something stupid? I don't like Sleep Powder's accuracy, so I just didn't take it. Yes I know how strong it is.
Zebstrika: I don't fucking know. I needed another special attacker, and I haven't used Expert Belt hardly at all. I can just press Volt Switch a lot and then later on when they switch something in thinking it's safe BAM switch moves. Maybe I should just use lightning plate for the extra 10% damage?
Carracosta: Never used a Shell Smasher before. Gorebyss is for big nerds.
Replay of team in action:
http://pokemonshowdown.com/replay/nu-53744602That Overheat miss was so disappointing. After pretending it was Scarfed all game it made me sad. At least I got the paralysis to make it not matter.
