If we are talking about enduring characters, a switch on the role of the main villain would be great.
Instead of having someone who is clearly a suspicious cliche bad dude, someone who is close to the main character should be it. A master manipulator who pulls strings and leads the evil team from the shadows all for self gain. The closest we got was Ghetsis in Black/WITH, but a villain who you'd never suspect is always the best.
