Being a week into the game is still pretty exciting since I don't have to face the absolute most annoying stuff and only get paired with people who have way better figures than me like a third of the time. And even then sometimes you can play around the power gap between Pokemon, so no game is a surefire loss at this point.
Plus I think I'm getting better at the game. I've managed to dig myself out of awful situations a couple of times tonight, and managed to beat a person ranked like 130 points higher than me, then right afterwards got a forfeit win from a person 100 higher than me still. Not a direct measurement of player ability of course but the point is I'm having fun and no one can stop me yet.
Except energy needing to recharge.
