The only fanfiction piece I've ever written was Deus Ex: Human Revolution (And it became true, huzzah) inspired by a FANTASTIC very short piece of fanfiction (Revolving around the idea of Adam accepting his death because he hates his new augment and is facinated and disappointed his mechanic body can't physically react to his fear or anger)
I'm writing a novel currently, but don't think I'm good enough and thus constantly have the urge to work on less relevant or interesting projects to protect the idea/work from my inexperience. I like only really delving into prewritten characters psychologies or unique situations, all Pokémon and characters are the same near-blank slate.
That raises the tl;dr: How do you start writng fanfic for something like Pokémon?
