Probably the most redeeming quality of DP was the introduction of Wi-Fi, which brought players together for the first time. But even then, the infrastructure was nonexistent. Local mini-games with friends were fun, but PBR was THE best way to play online. Between the performance, Battle Pass System, Team Preview, character creation and overall presentation of the game. Something like XY just does all of this better by improving the infrastructure and features of the regular game, which made for a better pvp environment overall.
