>>24540869It's sad but this is the most likely the reason. Mega evolution is supposed to be close to legendary tier if not a major power boost for most pokemon with the ability. Can't have the main character having that sort of strength and given a chance to win the Kalos league, now do we? They'd rather give it to that beginner Shotafag for his soon-to-be Sceptile or any of the Kalos trainer trio with their Kanto starters first before even considering Ash as a choice.
I'd be surprised this Ashninja phase is ashime only seeing how it's going to be so specific to ash's traits or to at lest advertise some new type of alternate evolution like primal or some ancient held item that will be 'Z' exclusive only.
