And Cynthia used her Mega there which made it more frustrating since Iris didn’t have a Mega. Many people wanted her to beat Cynthia since it was like a rematch.
In the next battle with Ash, Cynthia’s Garchomp was too tired to use a mega. And then Ash won. But many think Iris should’ve been the one to finish her off herself. The whole thing was really annoying for Iris fans. Also Iris’ Dragonite racked up another loss, making it one of the worst jobbers in the show for some reason.
Since Ash beat Cynthia anyway(lol) and so many matchups were arbitrary as to who won, many think Iris should’ve won instead and then had a showdown with Ash, which would’ve been funner than watching Ash beat Cynthia also. Cynthia apparently plans to retire now also, so Iris could become a better trainer, making it frustrating that she couldn’t simply win there. It’s also a general statement of annoyance at the tournament, the whole thing felt like writers threw darts at the wall.
